(not sure if it's the right forum, sorry in advance)

Anyway,I got ATAPI iHAS124 ODD,pretty new and reading CDs fine
I tried to burn an ISO using imgburn, then it finished succesfully and the CD was "blank" - it showed that the space in use is 0..however imgburn recognized it as a burned CD so it can't be burned over again..
I tried PowerISO and the same problem

So I thought maybe there is a problem with the writing ability of the ODD,but then I tried to burn normal files (and not an image) and it was perfect..
I tried to Google it,but didn't find the same phenomenon...(everything is about blank CD after burning, but not specific to image burn)

Solution

A regular data burn is just putting files on a CD straight, how every it is you put them on there (drag and drop ordered). Image burn is writing the entire data to the CD exactly as the Image was created (in the order it was set, even with the spaces and gaps, etc.).

Dumb dumb question, your saying your burning CDs, not DVD, most images are 100s of...

Do you mean if I finalized the CD?
Because I tried with and without

Anyway,I tried it another version of Windows 7 Ultimate (dual boot) and same issue with XP burner
Maybe the BIOS settings are not configured correctly or I don't know
What is the difference between image burning and regular data burning? I don't see the logic behind this problem but this is a fact it doesn't work

Have you verified the SHA1/MD5 checksum? The file may be corrupt.
Also when burning images its best to burn at a very low speed. Burning at your burner's top speed often ends in failed image burns.

Dumb dumb question, your saying your burning CDs, not DVD, most images are 100s of GBs of data, what exactly are you burning that is only in MBs (max a CD holds is 650MBs)? CDs were basically replaced with Thumb Drives, since you can get a GB thumb drive for $1 at the dollar store.

Yeah,im talking about DVD's,with DVD images but I also tried smaller images (so that the burning process will take less time)
I try each time a different ISO the problem is not with them..
I also tried to burn it in 6x speed, same result..

Thanks
I tried it but sadly this is the same issue..
Since it happens with fresh OS,I believe it might be a hardware problem or something in the BIOS
Is there anything in the BIOS I can change that has something to do with my ODD?

I tried DVD +R and DVD -R...
I also tried what the person showed in the video
You know, maybe I will connect my old ODD and that's all (although i'm not really happy to open a new computer but...)
