The cooling on the Gigabyte is a little better, due to the fact that it has 3 fans, but this makes it louder than the EVGA. The EVGA cooler is still very capable, however, and also comes with incredible warranty and will run quieter. It's also a shorter card so will take up less space in a case, but this should really matter unless you have a small case. I would definitely go for the EVGA.

The Gigabyte WF3 cooler is remarkably quiet, and the Gigabyte card is also clocked higher out of the box. Based only on my own WF3 version of the HD7970 vs. another company's dual-fan version, I would expect the Gigabyte to be the better card.
Edit: I've had it bitmining in an open case (98% usage) and iirc the fans stay around 71% and being in the same room is not at all tedious.
