Motherboard Upgrade Advice

I recently build this system(Just been a month):
CPU:AMD FX 8320
Mobo:ASUS m5A78LM/USB3 Motherboard
RAM:4 GB A-Data RAM 1333 Mhz
HDD:1 TB Seagate HDD 7400 RPM
PSU:Corsair GS600 600W

The Asus board that i got isn't much of a performer, the VRM chips get heated quickly and due to which i am facing issues with my Uninterrupted Power Supply. At very high OC, the VRM's heat up and UPS is unable to handle the load.(I checked with higher rated UPS's).
Getting a good low profile cooler could get the temps down, and MAYBE solve the problem, but i just had this other option to upgrade.

So is it worth to upgrade to a 990FX mobo? and maybe get a Hyper 212 Evo or so? Would there be a performance increase?
I do have the cash, but is it advisable, i mean its just been a month with this mobo. I could sell it though.
Mobo budget: Rs 11,000 (~200$)
Cooler Budget: Rs 3000(60$)

This is the mobo i was looking at, how is it for OC?

MSI 990FXA-GD65 - Rs 8316 (~140$)

Yes, it is worth it. The 760G chipset motherboards can barely handle an FX-Series processor. Overall, anything 990FX chipset will be much, much better than your current motherboard.
I recommend the Asrock 990FX Extreme3 motherboard ($105), as it will perform just as well as the one that you mentioned here, without costing you the extra $50.
As a cooler, just get the CM Hyper 212 EVO. Anything above that in which you would see a performance difference would be about $80-$90, and that's a bit over your budget; plus, unless you were doing extreme OCs, you probably wouldn't see the difference.
NOTE: Most 760g motherboards don't have heatsinks on the VRM! This means that almost no overclocking can be achieved.

Get the MSI 970A G46, it is an awesome motherboard for not so much price. If you want to spend a bit less then go for the MSI 970A G43 which is almost the same but with a few bells and whistles but is still awesome for the price.

The G43 costs about 60 dollars and the g46 version costs just about 10-15 dollars more. They are the best at the price range.

NO! That is the 970A chipset! OP needs 990FX for a reason. It is the only chipset that really supports OCing.

The Asrock extreme3 isnt available anywhere here(out of stock). I am from india, and its not shown as available in any online website. The model i mentioned is the lowest priced 990FX mobo i saw (flipkart.com)

In that case, go for it. The cheapest 990FX motherboard from a reputable company will be fine. I chose the Extreme3 because it is a very popular, cheap motherboard here in the states.

Okay, so the cheapest 990FX motherboard you can get in flipkart is http://www.flipkart.com/msi-990fxa-gd65-motherboard/p/itmdh4frxj5mng9h?pid=MBDDH4FNASEFWZQZ&ref=21462d3c-95e2-4d1e-8708-10b8cf2cfc89 which is available for 8400 rupees which is way higher than the MSI 970A motherboards.

And who said that 970A motherboard do not overclock well? They are on par with the 990fx motherboards at overclocking. Go get the MSI one it is available for around 5000 rupees at flipkart. I am sure that you would be quite happy with it.

I can afford the Asrock 990FX Extreme4 though, available at 40$ more, but is it worth the extra buck?

MSI's 970 chipset motherboards G43,G45 etc. have always had VRM heating up issues with mobo getting fried. They do not have VRM heatsinks i think.
The G46 adds a VRM heatsink, yet there were reports of it burning out too. Both reported on a number of 8 core AMD FX CPU's. So i dont think they will OC as much as a 990FX chipset mobo's(Which were officially released to support FX chips)

Precisely. For OC, don't do anything but 990FX.

I say yes, simply because I trust Asrock much more than Gigabyte. You probably won't see any performance difference, but you will have peace of mind knowing that you've bought a solid product. It's up to you though.
