PC Boot Problem When Kingston 4GB RAM Is Installed

The PC is around 2 years old

I wanted to upgrade my RAM with a 4GB stick running along with my old 2 GB stick

bought a new ram for my Gigabyte GA-G41M-Combo motherboard, when i plug my 4gb ram the pc doesnt boot

i bought this ram

which if i plug in to my motherboard with/without my 2gb old ram, the pc does not boot up

Did you try the 4GB by itself? If your 2GB stick is DDR2 they WON'T work together can only use DDR2 or DDR3, if both are DDR3 they may not want to work together

my 2GB stick is DDR3, the new one i bought is DDR3 as well but its of 4GB

@ may just not want to play together, best bet is a set of 2 sticks from a single package, mixing stings from different packages can always be problematic

+1 Tradesman1 they 4gb by itself.

Also, not only the size of memory matters but the timing, speed and voltage must be the same.

What are the model and part number of memory?

this is my mother boad, n it says in specifications "Support for DDR3 1333(O.C.)/1066/800 MHz memory modules"

which is a 1333MHz RAm

so what am i supposed to do to make it work together? :??:

May be a bad stick, have you run memtest on each by itself?
