Hey,

Towards the end of last year i built myself a new rig, got it finnished, but at the last minute had to bail on the graphics card. so for the past few months have been running video through the intel internal 3000 HD and the HDMI out until i have spare cash again. However last week it suddenly stopped working. occasionaly when i try i get a slight glimpse of a purple mess before the monitor shows the no signal screen.

Any ideas....

Cheers :)

Solution

sounds like its time for that discrete graphics card! ;)
Have you tried a different cable?
That's the problem with integrated graphics, if it goes out you are screwed, unless you can replace the CPU or the MB.:ange:

I have checked the cables and the monitor and it is definitely an issue regarding the motherboard. As i said i was always planning to buy a descrete graphics card but dont want to go out and buy one to find it was a waste due to a mobo issue all along :/

Well, if you get the graphics card, and still have issues, then it means that you needed a new MB anyway, Only now you will already have the graphics card that you were going to get later. Hmmm, not seeing the downside here.:D
