best graphics card for around £260 ($400)

Im building my first pc i made up my mind with all of my parts apart from the graphics card i have £260 ($400) or so to spend i could probably spend a little more if i think its worth it. can someone tell me the best GPU i can get and a stable overclock for a i5 3570k with a H100i

For 400$, that's either a GTX 770 or a Radeon HD 7970 GHz edition, depending on what games you play. Each gets a couple FPS more then the other in games, they're pretty much neck and neck. Look up benchmarks for the games you play, choose a graphics card based off of that, or, buy whichever one you get a deal on.
