Cpu socket pins bent causing Dram red led?

I found my beloved p8z68-v clearing out a spare room and my happiness soon turned sad once I saw a few pins were bent. I tried my best with some thin tweezers and went to test it and the cpu it self runs fine, or so I can tell anyway but the DRAM Led lights up red indicating a problem with the ram. THe ram I'm using works 100% and I've tested it in every slot. Could the Cpu socket be causing the problem even though the CPU Led flashes once as normal then stays off.

The cpu works fine on my main board. It must be the cpu socket but if the pins weren't connecting then surely the cpu wouldn't run at all? But the chances that ALL ram slots are faulty at very low so i'm stumped on this one! It's a shame as I loved this board and would rather use it then my z77 extreme4
