I'm building a pc and I'm not sure which to get a momentus xt or a standard 3.5" 7200rpm hdd

    Get the biggest hard drive you can for now, rhen later you can get a SSD if you want speed.

    Aren't most of those 2.5" drives
  4. The 2.5" format is for laptop, but you can use it for the desktop too, only you may need the adapter for the 2.5" one to install into the 3.5" bay. But most case will come with the adapter for SSD you can use it .

    The momentus is faster, but not much. Buy a SDD if you wan't even a faster operation.
