I can't mount my CORSAIR CX500M PSU facing downwards in my Rosewill R5.

The problem is, the screws don't line up properly(odd hole placement on the PSU). Other than that, it fits fine.

Is there some trick I'm missing, do people just mount upside down without all the screws secured in place?

It's clear that this case had downward facing psu's in mind when being designed since it has a bottom vent, and filter. I've seen pictures of psu's mounted upside down in this case.

I guess it's not that big of a deal, I just don't want to drop anything inside of my psu.

Solution
How many screws can you get in there?

As long as it's not relying on the screws for suspension (i.e. it rests on rubber or on the case), you really only need two, to hold it in place.

I can get 2 in, and no, it's not suspended by the screws.

I'd also gain about a inch or two of wire but mounting the other way. Cool, I'll just fit it in the best I can facing down thanks.

I'm a dumb ass, after flipping it back over*, I realized I can easily take some snips to it and make all the screws work correctly. I'd prefer not to snip at my new case, but, it is what it is. :D

*Adding a lamp to the room helped.

I don't think you would notice it snipped. I mean, I did get 2 screws in, but, they are both on the left side. I'd hate to get everything installed, and have it rattle or something. The snipped area, would be covered by the screws. I mean, lol, it just barely doesn't make it.

It's not going to be rattling; most of the time the fan will be on very low. Especially since its probably going to be sitting on rubber, it's nothing to worry about.

Perhaps use it as is, and snip it if you decide it would help? I just don't want to advocate making a permanent change unless you know you have to. (That stems from when I was first starting out modding and didn't realize that a circle drill that punches a hole in metal doesn't react the same way to mesh.)

Yea, I'll wait on cutting it.

Just have to mention, I'm talking about 1/8th inch x 1/8th inch here, not something crazy. Pretty much, you'd have to unscrew it to realize it had been cut.

But, yea, I'm going to wait and see what happens. The PSU feels extremely secure as is.

*Will be another 3 weeks before I get the last of my parts, and start really putting it together.
