My PC died this morning.

This component combination was the best I could find at local stores today. I'd like to get it running tonight, but it has some flaws and I'm trying to decide if I should wait to unbox. Tomorrow is a holiday so no shipping, then the weekend...

- EVGA NVIDIA GTX 660 3GB FTW Sig 2

- ASUS Z87-PRO
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z87PRO/
- Intel Core i7-4770S
http://ark.intel.com/products/75124/
- CORSAIR TX750
http://www.corsair.com/tx750w.html
- Kingston 2x8GB 1600MHz DDR3 HyperX Blu

So what probably jumps out at you is that I have an OC board, but memory and a CPU that can't be OC'ed. But I'm OK with the extra cost if it gets my system running tonight and the components are quality. I'm also OK never overclocking; I want a cool, quiet, and stable system. My previous died in under 2 years.

What bothers me though is power efficiency.

1. The power rating of the Z87 chipset is 55W higher than the H87, per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGA_1150 . I would have bought an ASUS H87-PRO board ( http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H87PRO/ ) if it was sold locally. I found a wall power rating of 236W for the Z87-PRO at http://www.legitreviews.com/article/2211/15/ , but it didn't actually compare it to other chipsets. I also couldn't find product power specs from ASUS. Will the Z87 running the same CPU and clock as an H87 actually consume that much more power? Did I pay more AND shoot myself in the foot on power?

2. Also, I found out after getting home that this PSU is sub-optimal on noise, according to http://www.anandtech.com/show/4311/corsair-tx750-v2-new-and-improved/5 . Can I keep using my my existing CORSAIR HX520W ( http://www.corsair.com/en/hx520w.html )? Or, am I at least safe using it for a week or so?

Thank you!

p.s. I've never been a fan of Kingston, but I haven't bothered to look yet whether I got ripped off there.

Great. Thank you. I think I'm going to unbox and try getting by on my old PSU until I can order one I'm happier with. Wish me luck! (I'll mark your answer if I don't get any specific specs before I finish unboxing.)

I haven't determined what happened to the old PC. I get no diagnostic codes or anything out of it, so I have to assume the motherboard failed in some way. Certainly it could have been caused by the PSU, but I think the likelihood is slim enough to risk it. My video hardware was always slightly glitchy, so at first I assumed my video card had just gone out and ran out for a video card. Then I realized I wasn't getting any beep codes... I'm not sure I will ever dig up what happened now, all those components will probably just go in the bin at this point.
