Hey guys my crappy alienware m11x just died by soda pop and now i've learned my lesson with laptops and gaming. I need a full build gaming rig for 650$ or less. I need windows 7 and everything. What I do have is a mouse and a monitor. I don't live near a micro center. I've never built a pc yet so I'm a bit lost and just gonna have to take your word for it. I'm not looking for ridiculous graphics that can run skyrim on ultra, just looking for something under 650$ that is the "best". I need help!! :)

P.S. I'm considering just buying a prebuilt because I'm really impatient and need a PC soon. So how about this? The reviews are positive and it's cheap.

UPDATE: Okay so I'm going with this build

But because I live in California I have to pay tax which pushes the cost to 715$ with all discounts. I was wondering if there are certain parts I can downgrade on to save some money. Budget's a bit tight, thanks!

The iBuyPower build is about what you would get with 650 including OS. They get discounts by buying in volume. 7770 is not the best card one could cram in a 650 build, but really close. Usually FX6300, which it seems to have with a 7850, one step up from that iBuyPower config.

All that said, they usually really skimp on the power supply and memory in those computers. Memory is usually fine, but the power supplies are often off brand junk that are loud and burn out faster then 10 bucks more thrown at it would solve.

Here is an alternative.

Check the deals section I have something that might interest you. I have a Core i5 system valued at 400 dollars. If you buy my PC, you could spend another 250 for the GTX 760 for really good performance.

Alternatively, if you want a new build: I would go with this:

Your need for Windows 7 is a real kicker lol

Core i3 3220 129.99
EVGA GTX 650Ti Boost Superclocked 159.99
Crucial Ballistix 8GB Sport 1333Mhz 52.99
ASUS Dvd burner 19.99
Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 59.99
Corsair CX430 44.99
Windows 7 Home Premium OEM 99.99

Total: $677.91

A little over budget, but this is about as good as it gets for now.

Long as you're not overclocking this is what to go for.
Low level MSI boards like the G43 are known for problems, main difference between this and the one I chose is the Asus is lacking a front USB 3.0 header, no big deal imo. Also I chose much better RAM that I made sure was compatible with the motherboard (via Asus website). I have attempted to fix PCs in the past where the problem was simply they did not look at the memory compatibility list before purchasing. Good luck :)

Actually, read my latest thread asking the exact same question. I'd do this build:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1cHgx
Just swap the monitor out w/ a windows 7 OS, and try to grab a 7850 2GB instead :)

EDIT: I was reading the above posts, and follow what they said too. Keep the Corsair 200R (it's a much better case, I was looking for aesthetics), grab the 7870, but just use MHz-1333 or MHz-1600 RAM, and get a 8320 instead of a 6300, and (maybe) use an extra $30 for 2 8GB sticks of Axevir ram :)

Just a few things though. Needless money spent on the case, and only a single, low quality RAM stick? Dual channel motherboards should have 2 or 4. Again, that G43 just isn't a very reliable board. I chose the exact same HDD and the one on your build is $10 more? Very good CPU though, just not sure it fits in the price range. Too much for CPU, not enough on the mobo.

Why go for slower RAM when AMD mobos support 1866 natively? And for only a little extra money? No need for 16GB of RAM, I'd prefer a quality set of 2x4GB. The 200R would be a fine choice.

Here's an Intel version if you prefer it too. Imo the 6300 build is a bit more powerful, but the Intel has better power consumption which in turn creates less heat. You will notice almost 0 gaming performance difference between the two, just giving you another path if you want an Intel based option.

Eh I guess you guys are right about the mobo. I dunno why the HDD is more expensive (I gotta change my other iTX build now :O), but I was thinking that he might want to OC the ram in the future (I only thought of that now XD), so imo, it's better to get cheaper ram and OC it safely.

Thank you. Just for the record I am not a pirate, I was just trying to help. I would have only given him links, I don't actually know how to do it. All 3 of my PCs are running genuine Windows. Promoting it was not my intention.

Why continue this convo about pirating? Just learn for the future :) Besides, I've done a waay stupider thing on these forums. In the software section, I posted a thread, w/ the title saying "Where can I get windows 7 cracked" xD
Needless to say, I learnt my lesson :p
