Need Help with Windows Remote Desktop

I was trying to set up remote desktop from my Mac to my custom computer so I could manage my game settings and monitor my minecraft server, and it worked fine over the same network. What I can't seem to figure out is how to set up Remote Desktop so I can work on my gaming PC that is at my Moms house from my MacBook which is at my dads house. I have both IP addresses for both houses if that helps.

It sounds like you need to enable port forwarding on the router at you moms house. you can find short guide how to do this here:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/allow-remote-desktop-connections-from-outside-your-home-network

but you should also be aware this is a security risk as it exposes your gaming computer to the internet using a well known port.

Another option might be use teamviewer for remote administration which is also free for personal use.

Thanks for replying quickly. I downloaded teamviewer and the remote desktop worked perfectly. It worked better than Microsoft's Remote Desktop application. Thanks Again!
