How good is the Radeon8970M?

I am looking at some laptops and I was wondering if the Radeon 8970M could play games like Need for speed: most wanted at high settings at full HD?

is it better than the NVIDIA GTX 770M?

for sure it will be able to play most game in 1080p with high setting with ease. it is faster than 680m but i dont know how will it compare to 770m. 780m most likely stays on the top though for mobile gpu. anyway isn't that most 8790m will be paired with amd APU? honestly i'm not sure how good the cpu portion from the APU for high end gaming in mind.

Is it worth paying an extra 150 dollars though? I am trying to keep this laptop alive for about 4 years....

And would the extra 2 gigs of vram help any?

when you say it was 150 more you compare that with what gpu?

Oh wow sorry about that, I meant it is a 150 dollars more than the gt 770m

hmm honestly i'm not sure because i'm not really familiar with gaming class lappy. but upon quick inspection it seems that 770m is even slower than 7970m so maybe it worth it.

Hmmm that's what I thought but thanks for the help, I just wasnt sure about the architecture differences and if they made a difference
