Recently I upgraded my computer and I have 16 GB ram in 64-bit windows 7. I hear the drivers are not quite 64-bit ready and the microphone suffers from some symptoms. In my case, I hear nothing at all, not even distorted sound.

I wanted to set up it like this guy:

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/364455-28-audigy-onboard-realtek

where I use the ZS as the playback device and the onboard Realtek as the recording device. It works, except I can't hear my own voice through the speakers as I speak into the microphone. That's after unmuting microphone in the speaker setup. I wonder if that's because they're not controlled by the same hardware, it does not have a pass-through to let that happen.

But does anyone know how to make that work?

Thanks.

Thank you, it definitely helps! That's exactly what I was asking for.

Although, however, the sound is delayed a bit, from the mic to speakers. Do you know if there's a way to get rid of the delay?

I do think that it may be a hardware issue, like the lag is for how long it takes for the 2 different parts to communicate... Then it may be hard to fix it.. (Oh well then.)

Thanks again!

Thanks. Do you have a set up that's similar, a standalone sound card + onboard microphone?

Hi, i have a dedicated Creative SB with connected headphones with mic to it and output to my receiver through NVidia High Definition audio device. I have on board audio also but i would need to try Your situation.

I made some googleing and found this topic:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/6825ee2d-ad83-43bd-8d07-79cff7907b4a/microphone-output-sound-delay

Seems like it is depend on how Windows works with sound devices. There is solutions for single card problem, but i believe it could not help You.

But go trough this thread, i think You can try some of the ideas.. Don't try re installing drivers, don't think it'll help.
