Finally deiced to start putting some money into my old rig. This a low budget build. All replaced parts are used in lower end Custom builds

Previous specs as of 6 months ago:

Case: VERY cheap Mid tower case
PSU: very cheap 350w
CPU: Athlon 64 x2 4800+ 2.5ghz duo
Motherboard: ECS A740GM-M
RAM: 2x1GB PNY
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer
GPU: Nvidia 520 gt

As of 3 months ago:

PSU: Thermaltake SMART 650W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V
RAM: 2x2GB PNY
GPU:Radeon 7750 (First Radeon ever. . . and HATE IT!)

In 2-3 days (Already Shipping) from now the final specs so far should be

*Case: Rosewill THOR V2 ATX Full Tower Case
PSU: Thermaltake SMART 650W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V
*CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor
*Motherboard: ASRock 990FX Extreme3 ATX AM3+/AM3 Motherboard
*RAM: Crucial Ballistix 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
GPU: XFX Radeon HD 7750 1GB Video Card
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer

So what do yall think my next upgrade should be? Really need to replace the 7750 with a decent nvidia for $150-$250. Any cheap/decent suggestion for 16gb ram, the ram in the latest build was free from newegg at the time.

And last Question anyone know the big difference between the extreme3 and extreme9(was $30-$50) but i had a budget of $375 for Case,MB,CPU.

Forgot to add i will be getting a Noctua NH-U9DO from newegg soon the time fram will depend on how crappy the OEM heatsink is. dont really trust 125W designs but i love amd.

With a budget of $250, you can try to get a GTX 760. If you can't find that, a HD 7950 or HD 7870 XT are the next best picks. For gaming, 8GB is more than sufficient and Crucial Ballistix RAM is very good. 16GB only if you plan on audio encoding, heavy graphics work, or video editing.

As for the motherboard, the Extreme9 is way too expensive. I would stick with the Extreme3. A good alternative to consider is the Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0.

Thanks for the tips. ya did some research last night and decieded i will probally go with a gtx 750 just cause. Ya i might play around with OC on this rig after i get a aftermarket cooler but nothing to extreme. i was actually very happy with my choice in processor for the money Expically with X-Rebirth coming out this year. They say it should handle as many theards as you can supply it. . . wouldnt mind a 32 theard space 4x game =P
