Wipe windows need help

Hey guys, so im building a new computer but keeping my old hardrive, i plan to just wipe the hardrive completely and when in my new PC to then install my new windows 7 ultimate. should i just use Dban or what? cheers guys

For this purpose, I would just format it and be done.

when you say format, do you mean just wipe it and then be done?

Yeah, pop in the installation disc, delete all the partitions and reformat. Since you're keeping the HDD yourself, you don't need to worry about securely erasing the data.

I dont have the disc, im replacing this windows with a NEW windows different licence etc, if i put in my new disc will i still be able to?
also its a HDD from a dell pc so i think they put some OS on the MOBO aswell

Yeah, it can all be done from the new windows disc image. Boot up the new installation disc, delete your partitions on the drive, and format.

For the second part, I'm not sure I understand what you're asking about the Dell motherboard.
