So since my Sapphire 7870 had problems i'm probably going to send it back. I was thinking of buying a GTX 660 but the card isn't as good as the 7870. Then I found this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/VTX3D-Radeon-7870-Tahiti-Graphics/dp/B00AM3A7JY/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1372933893&sr=1-4&keywords=7870

It's so damn cheap if you look at the Tahiti ones from Club3D and Sapphire. But it seems like this card is only available in the UK (Don't worry I can ship it) and I have never heard about "VTX3D" before.

Do you guys think this card is worth buying this?
Will 1 fan be enough for playing BF3 on ultra?
Does anyone have a VTX3D card, if so, is the performance good?

Solution
When it comes to lower- and mid-range graphics cards, Nvidia definitely has the advantage on both the acoustics and temperatures. I don't know why, but both Asus and MSI coolers tend to perform much better on Geforce cards than they do on Radeon. Gigabyte has a bit of an edge on both sides while not really excelling on either one. In the end, MSI GTX 660 Twin Frozr II is pretty much a whisper quiet product that'll be relatively easy to push to its limits without having to care about the thermal threshold or noise levels much at all.

As such it should be able catch up to the stock 7870 XT somewhat. Go with the MSI GTX 660 Twin Frozr II.

The performance should be pretty much there on par with any other HD 7870 Tahiti. No experience with the brand but just by looking at the card I can tell you that it isn't going to be the quietest thing in the world. Not knowing VTX3D, it could ship with anything from buggy/faulty BIOS, fan coil whine to dead components, but if they're partnered with AMD it's not going to be anything out of the ordinary (brands like Asus and Gigabyte get this too from time to time.) The downside to importing components are the long RMA periods, even if you're in the EU and can get free shipping & avoid paying customs.

If any of this doesn't bother you, then go ahead.

As a "Sapphire HD7870XT with Boost" edition owner myself, performance and acoustics wise I totally advise you to purchase one. BF/Crysis3 on maximum settings @1080p I'm totally happy with it.

Well, the manufacturer is different, I can not talk about the quality of the brand, but this chipset is like a dream. The manufacturer shouldnt effect the performance but if its malfunctioning you have problems in the after-sales process...

BF; Ultra settings 1080p, nothing less than 60fps, V-Sync on, to stay at stable 60FPS
Crysis3; High settings(with AA, AF) 1080p, 50+ FPS, V-Sync is off.

Card stays between 70-75C, slightly overclocked to 1100MHZ, with stock voltage, +10% power limit.

You wont achieve the same performance neither with 660/660ti/760.

dont hesitate to buy...

Thankyou for your replies. But i'm still thinking... If I get the 660 i'm sure that it will work perfect and I will have no problems with my RMA. But if I get the VTX one I have a much better card. But if the BIOS is bad or my card doesn't like my computer i'm pretty much screwed because I read online that VTX3D had a bad customer support.

What would you guys do?

if you like gambling and if you think you are lucky... I see no reason why lol
660 is a decent card. but it is way behind than Tahiti based 7870. I would gamble in here if it was me :)

If silent operation is very much crucial to you, I would advise against this card. If you game with some sort of good headphones or ear plugs which block outside noise you probably won't hear it at all though. If you're a speaker user like myself then it's going to quite audibly rev up a bit when things get hairy.

The price is pretty good though, you might consider adding one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cooling-Accelero-TwinTurbo-Graphics-Cooler/dp/B005FYCFG8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372952499&sr=8-1&keywords=accelero+twin+turbo+ii at a later date if you find the noise to be an annoyance. Although you'd probably be better off just saving that exact amount and getting a card with superb cooling capabilities instead. Who has time or patience right? Mind if you did get one of these, you'd have to go through a "Warranty Voided" sticker during the installation. I take you know what it means...

Yeah noise is pretty important for me I remember kicking my pc case because my hd4890 was making a horrible noise. Il probably go for the msi gtx 660 twin frozr... I just wanna play safe. Idc if I have 10 fps less I just want to get a good, stable, quiet and cool card.
