Hello all,

People often said PSU(Power Supply) from a casing is not as strong as written.

For example :
powerlogic armageddon gaming ak3 have 500 watts

People said it only has around 250watts, is it true?

So is it true that PSU from a casing is worst than a independent PSU?

Thanks :D

Most PSU's that are included with cases are garbage. They will be good for running everything at stock, without any powerful add ons such as a dedicated graphics card. Maybe for a very low end low power GPU only, but it's something I wouldn't want to risk, and nobody really should. If it blows it could take out other parts with it. CPU/GPU/RAM/Motherboard.

Here is what some people on overclockers.com had to say about it: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=731338

Typically a PSU that is already implanted into a case is not as good as buying a separate one. If the PSU does not meet the description (did you get it on newegg?) then you have something else to worry about. If you bought it on Newegg, I would file a complaint or something, or find the manufacturer and contact them. I am sure that they will refund your purchase.

Good Luck!

P.S. If you do get a different PSU, get a corsair one, they are super reliable. :D

Thanks for your help :D

So when i bought a separate one (corsair 550w for example), i just need to buy an empty casing right?(no PSU)
And do separate PSU (like corsair 550w) have their own fan?Do i need to buy more fan?

Yes, just get a standard ATX case with no PSU. Zalman has some real nice cases for a very good price. The Zalman Z9 series cases can be found usually for less than $50. I got mine for $34.99 on sale. http://www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=57910#Specifications Check out the features you get for the price. ;)

Yes, Corsair PSUs have their own fans.

Yes the PSU has its own fan, no need to buy one.
