H61 vs Z75/Z77

Hello.

I noticed that even cheaper marathon PC's use motherboards with Z75/Z77 chipsets instead of cheaper H61.

Does using Z75/Z77 affect performance in any way, or it used for other reasons (i.e. overclocking, USB 3 support, etc)?
