Problem with Phenom II core temperatures

CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE.
Problem: Can't see temperature on cores.

First I used Everest and temperatures on cores were 0C. I thought it was some bug in the program, so I installed Core Temp. It was also showing 0C. I wanted to triple-check, so I installed AMD Overdrive. Also 0C.
What should I do? :/

  1. Use HWMonitor and see if stills reads your CPU temp as 0.

    HWMonitor free download - http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
  2. The first one shows your CPU temperature is 40 Degrees.

If you are adamant about your CPU temps then check in the BIOS.
  3. Yes, HWMonitor also shows temperatures of 0C.

Yes it seems you should check in the BIOS, It will be under the monitor section.

Hope this helps, if not come back to me :D
  5. Hi,

Motherboard temperature sensors are defective, you need to change it or RMA if under warranty

CPUTIN shows 43c on HWMonitor... Individual core temps don't show through software (as far as I know). What you can be sure of, is that your CPU overall is running at 43c in that picture.
  7. What's disturbing is that the Max Temp for your CPU hit 86c... Prrrrrrreeeeetttttyyyyyy hot.
  8. Yes your overall temps is 40 but the software isnt reading the temperature of the individual cores :D

Individual core temps are read by software but I think it may b e an option or it depends on which version you download :D

your problem is likely to be core unlock feature turned on in bios and is killing readings, happens often, you have no extra cores to unlock so change bios settings and try again

And I was also freaked out by that 86C, so I have decided to replace my stock cooler which sounds like some old nuclear powerplant, with cm hyper 212 evo :)
