Hi I am building a new computer but am not sure of the required watts and don't want to have to buy bigger later.
Build:
MOBO= msi z87 g45
CPU= i5 4670k
RAM= g skill ripjaws x 8gb 1600mhz
graphics card= nvidia geforce gtx 770x2
hdd= 1tb 7200rpm sata 6
ssd= samsung 840 pro 128gb
optical= dvd-rw
fans= 4/5
Planning on overclocking in future also.
Looking at the corsair HX series currently.

Since you mentioned it, I would highly recommend the HX850 for that build. Should give you close to 20% headroom on the 12V rail at load with that equipment.

The XFX unit is $10 more and is higher quality and capacity whereas the ZX is $30 less than the HX850

Source quality claim.

I have no dispute that the XFX you suggested is a high quality PSU. Though, you would need to provide some sort of comparison of the XFX ProSeries 1050 to the HX850 to source your claim of better quality.

In any case, I think your recommendations are great too. This is besides the point that the OP is mainly looking for an estimate on the capacity he needs for that build.
