Which sound cards allow you to switch between speakers and headphones with a hotkey?

This and an integrated head phone amp are my two priorities.

I have hd 595s.

I bought a Xonar DGX and I can't get it to do this. I'd prefer not to plug anything in the front ports, just the back.

Any help would be super appreciated.

I installed it and it the sound quality is great.

However, when I want to switch between speakers and headphones (say when my house mates are sleeping) i need to stand up and change the cords at the back.

Creative Sound Blaster Z SBX is an example of a card that can do this but I'm not sure how good that card is and I'd love to be able to do this for free with my Xonar DGS.

Ok it seems that the card cant support it as the only output port is the line out.

What you can do is get a audio back panel like this http://www.cyberresearch.com/images/products/1235348972.600.jpg plugged into the card and you will be able to use software to switch (as the plate would be used like a front audio plugs

edit: scratch that front audio header isisnt amped! (maybe plug speakers in that and headphones in card)

That's a great idea.

I'm trying now to just use my mobo jack for my speakers (i don't need excellent quality for them). I think it will work. There's a number of programs that allow you to switch between audio devices with a hotkey.
