hey guys i just got done building a brand new gaming pc, but after i had gotten everything hooked up, i powered it on and everything lights up, all fans, hard drives ect. and theres was no error tones or beeps at all, nothing on the monitor, the monitor lit up with a pure black and was obviously getting a vga signal, there wasnt even a bios splash screen, so i removed the ram from its slots and turned it back on and i hear 3 error beeps which means no ram detected, i know alot about computers but this is my first time building one, anybody know why i cant hear a beep when the ram is in its slots?
i have a 550W PSU (80+ bronze certified). and i have removed all hard drives, dvd drives and video cards, and connected the vga direclty the the onboard VGA port, i left one stick of ram in the dimm slot 1, and powered it on, still no sounds or beeps, the display turns on with a black screen, I did three tests, first i removed the ram completely to ensure the speaker for the motherboard was working, i got a normal 3 beeps like i should, i put the ram back in, and turned it back on and had no beeps at all. the ram is fully supported, my motherboard supports ram as high as 16gb at 1866mhz, and the ram i was using is kingston hyper X predator 8gb 1866mhz, so do i have a bad motherboard or what?
