I am currently saving for a new pc. My stupid decision to buy an Alienware M14x gaming laptop has quickly backfired, and can barely pull half decent frames on medium settings. For instance, in ARMA 3 multiplayer, It's pulling 12fps, on low, no matter which server I go to. So its time for an upgrade! Budget isn't really a factor, I work 2 jobs. So, here's what I have!

Case: Thermaltake Chaser MK-I

Mobo: MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming LGA 1150 Intel Z87

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell 3.5GHz

Heatsink: Hyper 212 EVO

HDD: TOSHIBA DT01ACA200 2TB 7200 RPM (Not sure on this)

SSD: SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3GB

PSU: OCZ Fatal1ty 750W Modular Gaming 80Plus Bronze

CD/DVD drive: Picked a random 20 dollar Asus drive.

RAM: G.SKILL Trident X Series 16GB

Solution
You need RAM. 8GB (2x4GB) should do fine for gaming.

Also, I would drop the i7 to an i5-4670K. It is just as good but without Hyper-Threading feature. Since only a select handful number of games support Hyper-Threading, it is fine to leave it out.

As for HDD, I recommend a Western Digital Black 1TB HDD. Longer warranty and WD is a very good brand.

And the PSU, if you do not plan to SLI, a Silverstone Strider Essential 600W is more than enough. If you do plan to SLI, then get a XFX ProSeries 850W PSU.

I forgot to put the RAM in xD I edited it xD I'm looking more towards 2 sticks of 8, just so I can upgrade to 32GB is I want to, rather then being stuck on 16 at most, unless I buy a whole new kit. As for the HDD, I will definitely change it, and I'll keep that suggestion in mind. I also do plan on going SLI in the future, so upgrading the PSU couldn't hurt. Thanks for the response! :)

Thank you for the response :) Which i5 would you recommend? I'm looking to squeeze the most FPS possible, without totally breaking the bank.
