In my ASUS AI Suite Thermal Radar program its saying after only 2 hours into Farcry 3 that the temp has reached 50c. :fou:
I was wondering if this is normal?
And also am I looking at the controller heat or the hard drive?
Please help before I melt my tax return build. -_-

Is you HDD receiving any air from the front intake fan?

Yes I even bought the brand name Nzxt 140mm fan for $16, and I bought the optional additional top 200mm fan for my nzxt phantom.

50℃ is fine. 75℃+ is where you really start to worry. 2 hours should be enough to reach thermal stability, so it's not really an 'only'.

At a guess it's the MB's third-party SATA controller - the HDD would come under it's brand name, and the chipset would be labeled chipset or some such.

You'll get better speeds by hooking it up to one of the chipset's SATA 6Gb/s ports.

May I see a picture where the HDD is located?

Lower right, there is a 140mm fan on the front of the case also. And I added an additional fan to the radiator block since I took this picture.

Hmmm, I suggest moving the SSD to another slot, it looks like it touching the hard drive's PCB producing much more heat.

And nice thank for the input, I guess the controller gets around 50. Better that than the hard drive for sure 50c would burn it out in no time lol.
The strange thing is on the side of the NZXT case there is an additional 2 120mm fans pulling in air right over the controller. I guess Ill reverse one to pull some hot air off of it.
