GPU usage spiking

My GPU usage is randomly spiking without me doing anything, this is a new problem that I just noticed.

Bad drivers? Ive had them a couple days now and it just started doing this.

Also, my screen will kind of flicker then the usage starts going batshit.

That's most likely a software problem. Have you tried doing a clean reinstall of the AMD drivers?

Please don't bump posts. --Have you done a completely new re install of the drivers? I suggest downloading a program called Driver Fusion. Run it in safe mode, delete the old AMD drivers and then install the newest ones.

Yes, I have used driver sweeper and driver fusion to remove driver remnants. I have tried about 4 different driver sets and neither helps. 12.10 was probably the worse, where just moving a window around made my screen jitter. Anyway, I have reseated the card, cleaned out the PCI-E lane with compressed duster, tried many drivers. Nothing has made a difference.

Have you made a virus scan? Some malicious program is probably using your GPU. Did you also try the card in a different computer?

I did a virus scan and it came up with 2 malicious events, deleted both, and the problem still persists. I honestly can not find any real reason it would do this.

try to restore from a restore point, or reinstall/refresh windows.
