hi,

I have just put together my new build and it keeps coming up with a HAL.DLL error, it suggests it may be a thermal error. This only seems to come up after install mobo drivers/gpu drivers. My specs are as below.

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus Z87-PRO ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Samsung 840 Pro Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card
Case: Corsair 500R White ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: XFX 750W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8

originally the fault first came up when trying to install updates to directx and a couple of time after this doing the same thing, but has also done this when not trying to install directx which makes me wonder whether it is a thermal error or not? It does sometimes on start up come up with CPU fan error - but the fan is running but only around the 600rpm mark. have tried changing parameters down to allow below this but i still get the error.
has anyone had any similar problems to which they have found a solution?

thanks

Ok, i believe i have now sorted this. One of the drivers that came with the motherboard is faulty, i think it is either the bluetooth or the intel smart storage thing. Hopefully if anyone else has this error it may help to know.
