When I download updates for Microsoft Security Essentials, I get the error code (0x80248014 - could not check for updates...). Yet they appear to have been installed.
I have been told to rename the Software Distribtion Folder. I do not see the connection?
Is it safe to rename the folder. What effect will it have on my updates and Windows Update?
Should I consider another anti-virus program (free, effective and straightforward - like MSE)?
