First thing I want to know, is how you got that Overclock with that mobo :) My understanding is you couldn't OC with a G41 mobo.

Anyway, 4gb ram is the min nowadays for a gaming system, so that's a good buy.
As is the SSD. YOu can put your OS on it for fast booting, and if it's large enough you can fit some of your fav games for faster loading times.

On the 7870, this is your call. I would say that the CPU could conceivably bottleneck the GPU. But you have it at 3.9ghz which could be enough. Most med-high end GPUs need a decent quad core to supply enough date to fully optimize the GPU.

you don't upgrade in order to use fraps, fraps is there to measure what you have

    ASRock G41M-S mobo = dd2 ram mobo board - max 8gig ram

    I presume you have 1no 2gig ddr2 ram 667

so buy another 3no sticks to max out the mobo - by the way what are you running xp?

are you just using the on board graphics - Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X4500 ?

which is roughly comparable to Nvidia 8200M(a little slower than it)
  3. OOps im sorry i wrote 3.9 by accident xD WOOPS!
Its actually 3.6stable now but i had it on 3.7-3.8(max , but sometimes my system was stutting down and it was verry annoying so i decided to get it abit lower than that :)

seems you already have best cpu give or take for that board:

    Celeron 400 series 1.6 GHz - 2.2 GHz Celeron 450
    Celeron D 2.4 GHz - 3.6 GHz Celeron D 365
    Celeron Dual-Core 1.6 GHz - 2.6 GHz Celeron Dual-Core E3400
    Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz - 3.33 GHz Core 2 Duo E8600
    Core 2 Extreme 2.66 - 3.2 GHz Core 2 Extreme QX9770
    Core 2 Quad 2.4 GHz - 3 GHz Core 2 Quad Q9650
    Pentium 4 2.66 GHz - 3.8 GHz Pentium 4 672
    Pentium 4 670
    Pentium 5 571
    Pentium 5 570J
    Pentium 4 Extreme Edition 3.2 GHz - 3.73 GHz JM80547PH1092MM (BX80547PH3730F)
    Pentium D 2.66 GHz - 3.6 GHz Pentium D 960
    Pentium Dual-Core desktop 1.6 GHz - 3.06 GHz Pentium Dual-Core E6600
Pentium Extreme Edition 3.2 GHz - 3.73 GHz Pentium Extreme Edition 965
    Xeon 3000 series 1.86 GHz - 3.16 GHz Xeon 3085
    Xeon E3120
    Xeon X3230
    Xeon X3380

so again, you need to up the ram and get a graphics card which is all budget dependant
  5. Thanks bronie , that helped alot, do you know good GPU for that configuration? If you do please post it :)

how much do you want to spent, you can get something mega which you can take into your next system, or something a little better than what you have?

you have - 1 x PCI Express x16 slot so whatever you can afford that you can fit in there really
