So I just bought this motherboard recently and I installed all of the drivers, including the updated INF from Intel's site. I installed the Etron USB 3.0 and the Intel USB 3.0. I've tried them at the same time and alone, but both show the same problem. When I connect my 1TB USB 3.0 WD external HDD, it hangs a lot.I tried both the rear USB 3.0 and the front USB 3.0 ports. I've installed the latest drivers and even the drivers from the DVD that came with the motherboard. I can't seem to keep the external HDD's connection stable. I am not sure if its hardware or software related because I've never had a problem with this before. And my case does support USB 3.0 in the front ports. Any helped would be appreciated

MOBO - ASrock Extreme 6 Z77
OS - Win7 x64 SP1
PSU - Corsair CX600

Damn, forgot to mention that I did update the BIOS from 2.60 to 2.70 (latest) and it happens on both versions. I used the Instant Flash method from within the BIOS.

Hmmm that is pretty strange. Is it just the one drive?
What Anti-virus are you using?
Are you SURE its related to the drive?

I am using Avast. And I just downloaded the beta Etron USB 3.0 driver, removed the Etron USB 3.0 and Intel USB 3.0, restarted. Installed the Etron USB 3.0, but 4 of the 6 USB 3.0 don't work. The front 2 USB 3.0 and 2 from the rear. The top-most USB 3.0 on the rear now appear to work. I wonder if I need a more updated Intel USB 3.0 driver or something? I usually had AMD setups, all these Intel drivers being in different places is so lame

Sadly I still have this problem. I tried to fix it again though. This time I uninstalled every driver. Motherboard drivers and GPU drivers. I used DriverSweeper and cleaned the registry afterwards. I then stuck in the install DVD and pressed 'install all' hoping that everything would work fine, since those were the drivers included on the DVD. Wrong, I still have the same problem and I tested it in multiple USB 3.0 ports.

Edit: I may have found the problem causing it... I think it is HWiNFO64. I am gonna test it a bit more before labeling it as the cause.
