Many gpus recommended power supply which are 4 times more than gpu power. Why is that? for example ati 7750 is about 125 W but recommends a psu of 500 W. If my other computer parts are taking about 150W then after adding a 7750 card can I use 300W psu or will it create problem?

Solution
All of the above; I never skimp on the PSU, I get at least 500W extra of what the minimum requirements are, because I know that the PSU can take the occasional full load without a hitch AND I know I can always throw in a second graphics card or whatever other upgrade I may want in the future without giving it a second thought. Never had a PSU-related issue in my life.
because you need to run the rest of your system, which yes, is around 100-150W. you CAN use a 300W PSU, but you'll be running it at full capacity, which is less efficient and more work for your PSU so that it'll wear out faster. a PSU runs optimally at around 50-60% of it's rated capacity

because most 300w psus will not have enough amps on the 12v rail to support a gpu thats why they ramp up the numbers as well as people trying to get away with lower end psus that arent equal to their numbers both wattage and amperage wise
