Hey everyone,

I recently got this computer from a friend who no longer needed it (company bought him an alienware laptop, lucky bastage....) which was a MAJOR upgrade for me. When I'm playing certain games, the screen will go white, sound freezes(stutters), screen goes black, and then the system reboots. I'm unable to Ctrl+Alt+Del during the white phase or do anything at all.

I'm at work currently so I don't have ALL of the specs but i'll give the best I can.

AMD Phenom x2 Black Edition Deneb (unlocked)
GeForce GTX 660TI 2gb
8gb ram
650w power supply.

Any suggestions please? It's really annoying and I can't imagine it being good on my computer.

sounds like drivers could be failing.

download driver fusion and install it and get the latest nvidia drivers.
uninstall current drivers but do not restart.
run driver fusion and clean nvidia drivers and restart when prompted.
install latest driver once restarted and restart if prompted.

try out a game after and see if it helps

you could also download and install ccleaner from piriform and run the file and registry cleaner and see if it helps.

Hi,

I do not do anything with overclocking. What would you recommend to check on CPU/GPU temps?

My powersupply is probably not any older than a few years. Modular supply. Not sure of brand off hand. I can look when I get home though.
