I am looking to create a 3x2 array of monitors. I am building a new rig to do so and have some questions involving how to pick out a setup.
I mainly do a lot of multi window based tasks that involve laying out pcbs, while looking at schematics, while reading datasheets, and having supplier websites open. However I do also play video games. I am looking for a setup that will allow me to use 6 monitors for business productivity while also allowing me to sli the cards together for gaming.
Would I be better off with 3 cards for the monitors or two cards that can do 3 monitors a piece? Can I run 3 cards and only sli 2 together?
If I use 2 cards with 3 monitors on each can I then sli the two cards together and get just my bottom 3 monitors running then do an eyefinity setup going on.
I have heard that only ati makes 3 output cards do they have a similar eyefinity technology.
Anywhere I have used the term sli it can be replaced by crossfire. Ati or nvidia doesn't make a difference to me.
