Hi

when I put a USB in my netbook, it says 'drive not formatted'. I've tried it with more than one USB and in all the ports of the netbook.

The USBs work fine on other computers.

I've emptied the USBs onto another computer to save the files, and then tried formatting them on the netbook, but it says 'drive cannot be formatted'.

Any ideas?

Have you tried formatting to different volume formats such as NTFS, exFAT, FAT32 or even FAT16? Also, is this an external hard drive? Could it be possible you need a split dongle to power the external hard drive with two USB ports when using the Netbook? If none of those options work, try navigating to Control Panel - Admin Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management and changing the Drive Letter or Path, this dialog box will also display the integrity of the USB device in question but reporting Healthy or not.

Hope this helps.
