I'm just wondering if this is something worth doing. I'm very new to building computers and for my first build i would like to incorporate the 780. I know they work together but, is it a weird thing to put a high end graphics card on a semi-low end MOBO? any replies would be great!

Thank-you!

Solution
It'll definitely work and it'll work well. Lots of people do that so as to save money for other components. It's just fine.

Hope this helps! :D

well thank you, i can't actually build this as of right now but i'm going to be saving money for quite a bit. I don't necessarily have a very well paying job so it might be a bit. considering i'm only 19. would anyone know whether or not there will be any advanced Mobo's or GTX graphics cards between now and say the new year?

Apparently the Nvidia's 800 series and the Titan Ultra will be released at the beginning of the year in 2014. So it might even work out for you and you'll have enough money saved up when everything is released.

My apologies I didn't notice the date you posted. Lmao. So could you tell me how often you game and how much of a difference two 760s makes in your electric bill? Please include your local cost per kwH if you can.
