680 gtx sli vs 780 gtx

Solution

I don't follow, are you saying faster or slower? That graph basically sums up my argument as 2x 680 is a little faster than 690.
680 x2 is something like 30% slower in the real world, i.e. outside of synthetic benchmarks. The extra performance of the 680's will net you more heat, more noise, more power consumption, and potentially microstuttering, if you are prepared for that then go for it. Also worth mentioning the 770 is better and cheaper, and the 760 isn't much different for an awful lot less.

Don't think so. The GTX690 is effectively dual GTX680s on a single card:

Those framerates are from games, not synthetics.

I have two 680's in sli and they are sweet no micro stuttering or anything and I'm thinking of adding a 3rd since my board can take it I play bf3/4 anywhere from 80-200fps depending on the maps the slowest ones were the last expansion in bf3 where I would average about 80. 1080p everything on ultra
