Is a Z87 G45 a decent motherboard?

Just wondering what the strengths and weaknesses of this board are. is it worth going a step up to a G65? or will I be just fine with the G45?

Thank you very much

No, it won't be worth it. This and the Asrock Extreme4 Z87 are two of my top picks for Z87 motherboards.
If you are looking for other motherboards to take a peek at, I definitely recommend the Rock above. :)

just to be certain you're saying the asrock and the g45 are your favorite?
my only problem with the asrock is that a lot of the reviews say that the BIOS freezes up a lot. and the only thing that can be done to fix it is a full system restart.

I haven't heard that... either way, yes, those are my two favorite low-cost Z87 motherboards; you'll be great with either :)

  4. I've built a few of the Exteme 4s with no problems, might well be people aren't going to the site for upgraded BIOS and drivers, the minute you open a mobo box (unless you have a need for a freebie software on their driver disk it to throw the disk away the stuffs probably already out of date. As for MSI, I won't touch them, poor QC and support, have seen way to many DOA
