I got a new graphics card and power supply from my brother. I put the parts in my computer, and tested it out, and it worked the first time. I then moved it to my room and left it there for one day without use. When i plugged everything in to use it today, there is no display. I think i did something when i moved it, because it worked the first time. The fans work and light work. The fan on the graphics card also works. I just to make sure I don't mess anything up while trying to fix it.

What power supply/GPU did your brother lend to you? anyway, are you sure everything is connected/seated correctly from the inside of your PC, 4/8-pin CPU power connector...etc monitor.?

everything is seated correctly. The power supply is a purepower atx 12v 2.0 600W and the gpu is a galaxy nvidia geforce gtx460

It might be a PSU problem, but I'm not sure..... try taking your GTX out and boot your system. If it worked, then it's highly likely the power supply.

Then its the PSU fault. Try getting a higher quality one. Look for Seasonic/XFX/Corsair/Antec/Silverstone. Make sure it's 500watts or more.

That wouldn't work, installing a new PCI-E card will automatically disable the onboard GPU.

would it be possible to run completely off of the external power source if i were to take out the psu? Or would that mess it up more?
