I'm planning on using a program called Dxtory over the classic fraps for game capture. However, I'm not sure what to write it to. I have a 128gb samsung 840 SSD and and seagate barracuda 2t 7200 rpm HDD. I'm planning on playing my favorite games on the SSD which will also have the OS and other apps. Should I be writing to the HDD or the SSD?

Thanks in advance!

If you are recording a 1080p then you will need to use the SSD. However if you stick to 720p the HDD should be fast enough. I would recommend to just use the SSD as long as you have adequate room and just move any recordings to the HDD afterwards.

Move the footage after it's already been recorded and work on it there?

You could, it really wouldn't make a difference if you moved it before you finished it or after. Main point being to store the completed work on the HDD.
