What PSU? It's rare for any half-decent one to not have an 8-pin EPS12V connector.
It might work if you plug the 4-pin ATX12V connector into one side of the 8-pin connector - there should be one way it fits easily.

Hopefully your PSU has two 4 pin connectors which may say CPU or ATX - those two 4 pin connectors can join together to make an 8 pin connector to the motherboard - you don't want to use a 6 pin or 6+2 pin connector there, those are for PCIe and should not be plugged into the motherboard
