First I want to give the specs of my pc.

Processor :Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500k CPU @ 3.30Ghz 3.30Ghz
Installed memory (RAM): 8:00 GB
System type: 64 bit Operating System
MS widows 7 Ulitmate 64-bit SP1

ATI Radeon HD5450
Chip type:AMD Radeon Graphics Processor (0x68f9)
DAC Type:: Internal DAC (400MHz)
Approx. Total Memory: 1770 MB
Current Display mode : 1600 x 900 (32bit) (60Hz)
PSU: 300 watts

I have a computer problem and I still don't know what is the problem of my computer. It shudowns automatically while the power button light is still on and fans inside my computer are still running. I'm thinking that my PSU is just 300 watts that caused the shutdown of my computer? And by the way, after my computer shutdown, I can't boot it, I need to wait for at least 15-30 minutes to enable it to boot. I also tried cleaning the fans and my motherboard with a vacuum and brush. Still the same problem. Is 300 watts enough to supply my video card?

Solution

I would say that 300w isn't the problem, but the PSU could be on its way out,
or already there. It also could be excessive heat, but that seems less likely
as your system can function with a healthy 300w unit and a 5450 gpu.

Have you added any of these components recently?

Hate to see you waste $$, what is the brand/model of the PSU & how old is it?

Are you able to try it in another computer?

My computer is I think 1 and a half year old. So its the same as my PSU. I dont have extra computer to try it out. This problem exist in almost 6 months and I allow a few technicians to check my compute and still they can't find out what is the problem of my computer.

I think it is probably the PSU, but I can't be sure.
Would hate to see you put a new psu in & still have the problem.

Don't know what else to suggest if the tech's couldn't find what was wrong,
it tends to make me think it's the PSU.
