I am deciding what cpu to get my brother for his 600 dollar pc build. I have heard all of these have similar performance, and want to know which one to purchase. I like intel's upradability options, but AMD is very good for budget builds. He wants to play games at 1080p High - Ultra Settings. The GPU is either going to be a radeon hd 7850 or a Nvidia Geforce GTX 660. Thx in Advance

My Brother wants to play all the new generation of games, and since the consoles are going to have eight cores, will a six core be better? He also wants to play games like minecraft with the shaders mod and all of this generations games.

EDIT: I thought I read 6100.
[strike]Actually, go for the 6350, because the Piledriver architecture brings many improvements over the Bulldozer one.[/strike]
I would pay a little more to get something like an 8320 or 8350. Look at Microcenter. They have good prices on CPUs.

The 6300 and the 6350 are both piledriver, smart one. Also, the 8320 brings relatively few gains to the field. (Trust me, I have one.) Finally, the 6300 is the smarter buy due to the fact that a simple OC can easily tie it with the 6350, minor performance gains notwithstanding.

FX 8320 is pretty cheap actually, and will be more future proof than the 6300. Right now it isn't too much better for gaming, but that might help in the future. It also makes one hell of a video editing CPU.

Oups... Forgive me on that one I got confused. I thought I read 6100. Ignore my comment then.
