I have a TP-LINK Wireless N adapter (PCI) card installed, detected and working properly in device manager (I pick up my wireless modem just fine) however, the TP-LINK software will not detect it and throws up the error "Please plug in a wireless network adapter'. This of course is needed for the SoftAP mode to send outgoing data.
How can I fix this or is there another way to send data?

I also had troubles at first with getting this network adapter to work properly. I was able to get it working properly and here are the steps:

- install hardware into pci-e x1 port (or pci-e x16)
- use software cd to install driver only (not the utility)
- on pc navigate to start -> devices & printers -> right click on your pc (in devices) -> properties -> hardware -> TP-LINK 300Mbps Wireless N Adapter -> Properties -> Change Settings -> Driver -> Uninstall

Commence the uninstall process and afterward restart your PC. When your PC reboots it will install the driver properly and afterward you should be able to enable the appropriate wireless network via the windows utility to the bottom right on the desktop (by default). Enter your wpa code or whatever you use for security and your internet should work after that. The only issue I have had after this process while using this adapter is a max of 15-16 Mbps on a 25Mbps service although that may be due to 75-80% signal strength. Another computer in my house (Mac Book) gets the max using its adapter while its further away with a weaker signal.
