Intel i5-4670k 3.4hz quad core processor. Whats a good, affordable cpu cooler that is compatible with the given cpu? Im building a gaming comp. with a not very strict budget of $1200 (give or take 200 if neccesary)

This is my first computer build so if you have any advice regarding cpus, cpu coolers, or anything in general, it is appreciated
Thanks!

The coolermaster hyper 212 evo is one of the best air coolers you can get. If you are planning to overclock you might want to look into something like the corsair hydro series like the H100 or 100I for heavy OC.

I answered in ya other thread

The better air coolers (Phanteks, Silver Arrow, Noc DH-14) will top just about any self contained liquid cooler in both thermal and acoustic performance. The H100 tops the Phanteks by about a 1/2 degree bit is just to danged noisy doing it.

However, this performance comes at a cost; noise. At 2600RPM, the H100 isn’t a quiet unit at all and similarly at 2000RPM, it can still be quite intrusive. In terms of performance per noise, high end air coolers from Phanteks, Noctua and Thermalright still reign supreme, contrary to Corsair’s own marketing. Like other ALC units, the H100 relies too much on high RPM fans for its performance when the goal of water cooling is generally for extreme performance at low noise levels.

Then why didn't you answer to this post? you answered the other about 10 minutes after my first response here......and I'm glad Wiki has been heard from, you should report the original one you responded to as a Dup thead and the mods can remove it, since this was already active and had responses. Sorry but the rest of us occasionally make a mistake ;)
