All drives except OS crash when playing games, but never when out of game.

Simply put, after launching a game and playing for a few minutes, my drives will invariably crash! That is to say, they disappear, and the games crash after being unable to find themselves anymore.

The drives come back when I reboot my computer. I've tested this on Bioshock: Infinite and the FFXIV Beta. Funnily enough, I can play Elsword completely fine, and can browse the internet, watch movies and fiddle with other programs without drives crashing.
Not only does this happen to the drive the game is stored on, but it also happens to all other drives except the drive the OS is contained on (C:\).

When this occurs, event viewer throws up that a SMART error occurs on the drive the game is located on, but I don't think I can completely trust it when more than one drive is failing like this.

Update: I performed a quick diagnostics scan using WD's Data Lifeguard, but it said the hard drive passed.

Second update: I'm thinking of installing one of these games to my C: drive, which is my Samsung 840 120gb SSD, but I'm quite thoroughly scared of what may happen. Does anyone feel this is a good idea?

Third update: I ran FFXIV on my SSD and immediately encountered an error, followed by a blue screen. The blue screen was a stop error (0x000000F4), accompanied by the message "A process or thread crucial to system operation has unexpextedly exited or been terminated." This leads me to believe it isn't hard-drive related.

For reference, my games are stored on my Western Digital 2TB. Model name is WDC WD20EARX-OOP.
Please help!
