Hey guys, so I recently just bought a Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 ST3000DM001 3TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s and I am currently using HGST Deskstar 7K1000.C 0F10383 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s for my new gaming rig that I just built, and was wondering if there would be any noticeable performance changes if I say installed windows on the Seagate instead of the Hitachi drive and/or had my games on the Seagate.

So would I possibly get faster boot times and loading times at all?

Solution
you need to download a program that benches both drives like a program that does it for a ssd drive you probally wont notice a lot between the 2 most mechanical drives only score a 5.9 in the windows wei tests.

Alright, so basically it would be a slight performance increase with the 3 TB Seagate HD as I'm assuming it has a bigger cache which would help the performance out a bit, however I would also need to format the drive as GPT in order to get use out of the full 3 TB of space available?
