Hey guys,
I am playing Planet Side 2 on a 660ti and AMD 8350.
I find that my frames per second average 20 when in battle/around people having max setting and the render distance set to 2000.
Would overclocking make an improvement? Because PS2 is a fairly cpu intensive game.

Solution
It would probably make an improvement, but I wouldn't hope for too much. Your GPU has more than enough power (I have a GTX 660 and I run the game on high settings), but I've heard the game doesn't do well with AMD CPUs. I have an Intel i5-3570K running at stock speeds and I get 60+ in most situations and between 30-40 in the largest battles.

The good news is the game is Free 2 Play so you can put it down for a little while and hope that SOE is able to optimize the game a little bit more over time. As frustrating as the game can be sometimes from a technical standpoint it's easy to forget just how amazing it is that you can have so much going on at once and have it be playable for most people.

Yeah I guess you are right, there is not much I can do unless they do optimize the SOE. Thanks :D
