Good morning everyone,

I actually have a Dell Inspiron 580 with an ATI RADEON HD 5450, which is not a graphic card used to play video games.
I would like to change this graphic card to play videos wit hgood quality like Skyrim for example.

I have found the Asus RADEON HD 7790 (around 130€) and it seems to be a good middle classe one. Do you confirm it is not a bad choice ? (Note that I don't want to spend 250€ in a graphic card...)

Could I install it in my Dell Inspiron 580 ? It seems that I'll have to change the computer's power supply (300w actually, at least 500w required for this graphic card). Is it true ? How may I choose this power supply ?

Thank you very much for your help ! :)
Thomas

No you cannot use the 7790 with a 300 watt power supply. You would be better off getting a 7750 instead.

Thank you for your answers :

Here are my system specs :
Windows 7 64bits SP1
Intel Core I5 CPU 760 2.80Ghz
6 Go RAM
Actual graphic card : ATI Radeon HD 5450
Directx 11
Harddrive 1To

I have found a manual with all the informations:
DELL INSPIRON 582 manual

Yes, the PSU is what I called "The power supply", I'm french and didn't have the specific word for it.
Does the 7750 better than the 7790 ? more recent ?

Thank you,

I hope you have MT (Mini Tower) version, not slim, take a look at the picture below, is it looks like yours?

If yes, Asus RADEON HD 7790 will fit perfect, however, you might have to move hard drive to the same position as above.
Power Supply is standard ATX, Seasonic, Corsair are generally recommended all models, take a look here to see how different brands are lined up http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/323050.aspx
and use this to choose proper wattage http://forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/power-requirements-...

For a 300w PSU I recommend either a Radeon HD 7750 or nVidia GT 650 (not the Ti, not the Boost versions). Anything more powerful will require you to upgrade the PSU.

OP actually was asking about 7790 card, not 7750.

7790 is much stronger than 7750.

^^^

Like I said, for a 300w PSU the best card he can use would be the Radeon HD 7750.

If he wants a Radeon HD 7790, then he will need to upgrade the PSU.
