remove write protection from my sandisk 16 GB pendrive

Solution
1. Open Start Menu
2. Run, type regedit and press Enter, this will open the registry editor.
3. Navigate to the following path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies

4. Double click the key WriteProtect in the right pane and set the value to 0 In the Value Data Box and press OK button

5.Exit Registry

Some Memory card / Pen drive have written protection switches When it enabled they prevent files from being deleted, It also stops you from accidentally formatting your Memory card/Pen drive. It’s a positive side of write protection.

But! Sometimes, while trying to format, your Windows will tell that “This drive is write protected” and will refuse to format even after disabling the write protection switch (if there’s any).
