Can anyone tell me if the cooling fans / Heat sinks interchange from the 1155 to the new 1150 socket i5 cpu's ?

It all depends on the heatsink in question. Stock coolers typically match their processor socket and thats about it, if its something like the Hyper 212 evo that is an universal cooler socket.

All Socket 1156/1155/1150 heatsinks are interchangeable

Thanks.. what I'm seeing are coolers like the Phanteks PH-TC14PE for the 1155 but no mention of the 1150.. is it possible the specs were written before the introduction of the 1150 and that's the reason for the omission?

It could be that, or like Intel god said, they are just interchangeable and saw no need to advertise that, assuming everyone knew you can interchange them.

I had a inkling that that was the case but needed confirmation.
Thanks to all for your time and brain matter.
